Day 3

So today I ran 1.5 miles in 21:09 mins and did 24 sit ups in 1 min.  I did 18 push ups no time limit.  I am calling that my workout for today instead of doing a 30 day shred.  I am also feeling under the weather like upset stomach so figure my body is telling me to take the night off.  But today isn't without a workout so I am ok with no video tonight.  I am feeling very exhausted so I am going to bed when I finish this post.  Tonight I will leave you with a beautiful picture that isn't on pinterest... yet :).  I am so excited to finally have my new bike.  I have my fitting scheduled for Monday March 5th.

Day 2

Day 2 of the 30 day shred DONE!  I was so not feeling it.  Taking a week off can sometimes make it hard and I was going to ride my bike so a video wasn't the plan.  But since it got late and I didn't get my ride in I got a video instead.  I am glad I did it.  I am glad I am working out.  It is better for me emotionally.  I am doing a fitness assessment for work tomorrow so that should be interesting.  I will do a video tomorrow night and spin class and video Thursday.

Trying something new

So to be honest as much as I liked the Live Fit program and I will do it again I had to switch gears.  I just wasn't losing the weight I need to in order to make weight in a month.  I still have 10 pounds to go and I can't risk not making it.  My job depends on it.  So cardio queen to the rescue :).  I started the 30 day shred today and I will do it like I did the first time for a full 30 days no breaks 10 days on each level.  I did great tonight and really pushed.  I like that I push myself more with this video.  I am also going to ride my bike on Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday and do a spin class on Thursday.  I hope to drop at least 10 pounds by April 1.  I did another picture today to show my before and after of the 30 day shred.  I can't wait to see how I do.  I also put it up against my Dec photo and you can actually see more of a difference so I am glad I did another picture.  I think it helped me.

Lack of posting

Sorry for the lack of posting since last Friday.  We had slumber parties and friends all weekend and then Monday I fell ill :(.  Its been rough.  Yesterday I went to bed at 730pm and slept all night.  Yeah I am sick and tired.  But I do feel on the mend since I got such a great night sleep and I hope to get a work out in tonight.  I think I am going to shred it up this week or ride my bike and then next week start week 9 of the 12 fresh without missing any.  I think I will gain the most benefit from the program that way.  So this week will be modified to a workout of my choosing :).  I am down to 171.6 as of this morning.  We will see if it sticks or is because I am sick.

Day 54 (Friday) and progress pictures

Wohoo didn't skip out on my workout today.  Although it wasn't for lack of options LOL.  I so didn't want to workout but I am so glad I did.  I always feel better after a sweat session.  Although after doing progress pictures I don't feel as thrilled.  I don't really see that I am changing that much and I am super sad and frustrated with it.  I just want to see that amazing body I know is hiding in there.  Grrrr.

I think the front progress shows more progress but the side shows not much change.  I really need to put on the same clothes each time.  I think that would help me see more.... Or that is what I tell myself.  Looks as if my waist is getting smaller.

Day 53 (Thursday)

Today was shoulders.  And I didn't get my cardio done since the dr office called and I had to leave for a rescheduled appointment.  I figured I would be able to ride my bike but I failed there and didn't get it done.  Perhaps this is why I am not getting the amazing results others are :(.  But I am making progress and that is better than staying fat.  The scale is barely moving but its going down and the tape measure is getting smaller.  Tomorrow is picture day and I sure hope I can see some great improvement to push me through the last four weeks of this program.  It is hard but I know I am stronger.  I know I am healthier.  And I know I am only going to get more healthy and stronger and better.

Day 52 (Wednesday)

Today was a chest day.  I did run 5 mins without stopping woot.  I have never done that before.  I walk/ran a mile in 17 mins... so I still count it a win.  I missed a few of the workouts today, sounds like the story of my life.  I ran out of time, no ones fault but my own.  I did manage to get some time in the pool and swam 20 laps and swam for 45 mins.  I go slow for the first 15 mins while my oldest learns to swim laps with me :).  Its worth it.  At least I got a decent workout in and I didn't bail completely.  I would like to find something that didn't take me quite so long at the gym.  I might have to split my cardio and my weights to get through the last 4.5 weeks.  So close to the end of the program and really I am getting stronger even if the scale doesn't want to go down :(.  I am sure my erratic eating has nothing to do with it....  Today especially I need to remember this one.

Day 51 (Tuesday)

Legs day, wohoo.  I totally should have done my workout at lunch time but I was so hungry I opted to eat instead LOL.  So I had to get my tired butt going at 8pm to get my leg workout in.  I got 20 mins into my workout and had to call it.  Something is going on with my right knee :(.  Cracking and pain isn't a good sign.  And only when I was putting undue weight on it to push me upward.  GAH I hate this.  I will push my upper body tomorrow.  I will get through this and get on track with my weightloss.  I guess 20 mins and trying is better than nothing at all and hurting my knee to where I can't work out won't do me any good either.  Especially since I just paid for STP.  March 12th I will be done with LIVEFIT and start the program in my weight lifting rules for women book.

Day 50 (Monday)

Wow I can't believe I am halfway through phase 2.  It is amazing how fast it's going.  Friday and Saturday workouts got missed.  Partly because I was exhausted.  Sick baby, no sleep and funky eating schedule just did me in.  I did get my workout in today though.  Swam for 45 mins and did my arms and ab workout at home.  Minus the few things I couldn't do.  No pinterest inspiration tonight as I am not on my computer and in a hurry.  But eating was great today.  Eating was crap Sunday and I was physically ill from not eating good food.  That will teach me.  I guess I was doing better than I thought though :).  Just need to keep going.  I was down .7 pounds from last week when I weighed in for the challenge at work.  I will just see how it goes.  Friday I will be doing another progress picture as it will have been a month.  I can't believe it.  I look forward to seeing how I am doing other than just that mean ole scale :).

Day 46 (Thursday)

Today was a good workout day.  Shoulders I found a little harder to push, partly because form got terrible with to much weight and partly because someone was using the 20's I wanted to use.  The cardio was not my friend for the first bit but after the 15 min mark I found a grove and got it done.  Perhaps my legs being sore added to the whole experience.  I was happy to get it done either way.  I went and had my body fat tested via caliper.  I am at 37.5%.  I will have it done again in 30 days at the end of my work challenge.  I can also have it done anytime so I will probably have it done as I get to my goal weight.  I hope that is sooner rather than later LOL.  Tomorrow is going to be another fabulous day of working out and getting it done!

Day 45 (Wednesday)

So tired.... Having a sick baby that keeps us up all night is rough.  So working out is tiresome LOL.  But I pushed through.  I didn't get to work out at the base gym since baby girl had to be taken to the dr for an ear infection that just won't quit.  We took a little nap.  I worked out after dinner.  Rode the bike for 30 mins and did my chest and abs workout.  I am trying to push myself as I have said before.  I did the dumbell bench and incline dumbell bench at 20 pounds.  That felt great and was tough LOL.  I am sure I could be pushing more if I had pushed myself sooner but at least I am doing it now right.  It was a good workout and I am glad I got it done.  I realized today if my weightloss stayed steady at the 10 pounds in 6 weeks I would be at my goal sometime in September :).  That was a happy thought.  I just have to keep going.

Day 44 (Tuesday)

Today was a leg day.  I am again really trying to push harder and get more results.  Not that 10 pounds in 6 weeks isn't great, and 1.5 inches lost from my waist/hips isn't fantastic.  But I want more :).  So I am sore today.  I did squats not on the smith machine but with the bar which weighs 45 pounds.  That is actually more than I was doing and I did it as a narrow squat.  I probably didn't get as low as I should have but my butt (LOL) is feeling it so no worries there.  I then put another 10 pounds on so I was squating 55 pounds.  Not bad considering I was only doing 30 last week haha.  I can do more than I thought and just need to keep pushing.  That is for sure the theme for the week.

Day 43 (Monday)

Today was an arm day.  I got all my exercises done and am so proud.  I even tried to really push myself to failure.  My arms were jello the rest of the day :).  I only got 18 mins on the treadmill walking but I did get 30 mins in the pool and again really tried to push it.  It felt great.  These new vitamins are really giving me some energy and the up in my food is helping a ton.  Prepping is paying off so far.  I managed to not give in to temptation to grab subway instead of cooking at home.  I made Garlic Chicken and it turned out good.  Chris really liked it.  I made lots of broccoli to go with it.  I for sure got my 3.5 cups of fruits and veggies today.  I got 1-2 cups at lunch with the salad and carrots and then 1-2 cups of broccoli.  I started week 7 today and am feeling good about my progress.  I hope to keep going.  Tomorrow is the big day to register for the STP 2012.  I am super excited about it.

Day 42 (Sunday)

Today is my much earned rest day.  Although for a day of rest I did a ton of stuff LOL.  I ran the dishwasher three times today with all the dishes that had to be done.  I made mini banana bread loaves for our snacks, blueberry muffins for the kids for in the mornings, lunches for Chris and I for the week and dinner for us too.  I did roast a chicken but it wasn't actually done when I thought it was.  I only did one load of laundry this weekend :( but we bought an apple tree and hope to have apples next summer (2013).  I made a menu for the week and went grocery shopping.  I feel good with all that I accomplished.  We started supplements Saturday and am putting my stats in this post so that in 30days I can check and see what the supplements did if anything.  Its all just an experiment.  Taking all those vitamins is yuck to say the least.  But I am hopeful that they will help with some of my levels that seem a bit off.

Day 41 (Saturday)

Well a note to self look at the day's workout before 7pm.  I really should have hit the Navy base gym today for legs.  There was a lot of exercises I just couldn't do at home without the machines :(.  So while I still got a workout in (including my shoulders from yesterday) it wasn't as good as it could have been.  Next week I will look at the workout before hand so I know if I need to take time to hit the gym or not.  Still feeling pretty good about my week and getting all 6 workouts in no excuses.  I started a Women's Active supplement pack from GNC today.  It has a multivitamin, BCAA, CLA, Natural fat burners like caffeine and green tea and some other herb type stuff :).  Hope it helps pick up the weight/fat loss and I see some amazing results haha.  If nothing else it gives me some great vitamins.  I picked up the New Rules of Lifting for Women and am so far loving the book.  I recommend it.  I have not finished it but can tell that the humor mixed with great advice will really help me push my limits and break through them.

Day 40 (Friday)

Today was a shoulders day...
I did get a 30 mins swim in and did 18 laps which equals 1/2 mile.  I have done 14,300 yards since the first of December.  I am pretty proud of that.  I also noticed yesterday that my face seems thinner.  That makes me feel good.  The scale might be holding steady but the weight is falling off.  All this weight lifting is making me buff :).  I did go upstairs today quickly without feeling out of breath.  Things are getting better.  Some good sleep this weekend should help too.  Tomorrow I will do legs and shoulders and cardio.  Yeah its more than required but gotta make up for today.  If the weather holds out through Sunday I might take advantage and go for a ride, just a small one... teehee.  Food was kind of off today :( but next week I start a 30 day challenge at work and am challenging myself to not eat out for the whole 30 days.  Menu planning is going to be the key.

Day 39 (Thursday)

Today was an arms, abs and cardio day.  The last couple days I have really been trying to pick up the amount of weight I am lifting.  I can for sure feel it in my legs and chest.  I am glad that I am pushing myself and feeling the good pain of a good workout.  I got on the bike tonight for 45 mins.  I for sure hit a wall at 30 mins but was glad to push through.  Need to be able to ride for hours this summer.  I did run/walk for 21 mins this afternoon but I am supposed to do 30 mins and I need my time in the saddle.  The registration for STP opens next week!  I am so excited.  Someday Your workout will be my warm up!

Day 38 (Wednesday)

Legs day!  No cardio today.  I notice that I feel like I get a better workout from doing cardio... hmmm.  Although I love doing weights now too.  I did have Taco Bell for dinner :(.  It was late, swim lessons and then a refi signing and I just didn't have the energy to cook at 730 at night.  Yes that was poor planning on my part.  On a normal swim lesson night it would have worked out fine.  I did do the leg press and did 50 pounds for two sets of 8 and 60 for one set of 8.  I felt good about that.  I did step ups with 20 pounds and did Squats with 30 pounds.  All higher than before so that is good.  Leg press didn't get the fourth set finished but when you get a bad hurt its time to stop.  All in all a good workout.  Took 50 mins to complete and I did 3 sets of 10 reps on the roman chair since I have been missing those at home.  Tomorrow will be another great day I just know it. The picture today is for my ladies in my mommy group all working to lose that baby weight.
