Day 6 (Saturday)

New Year's Eve!!  I can't believe 2011 is coming to an end.  Many wonderful things happened this year the best of which was the birth of our third child.

Today I did not work out.  I was going to ride my bike but just didn't make time for it.  I did get a lot of errands run which was good and the ingredients for the protein bars I am going to make tomorrow.  I will let you know how that goes haha.  Eating went really well today.

Day 5 (Friday)

So today, Saturday and Sunday are "rest" days according to my program.  However :) being that I love riding my bike and swimming I am taking the opportunity to get some time on the bike and in the pool.
I was off early today so I went for an hour to swim laps.  Managed to do 40 laps which is 2000 yards.  That is about 1.14 miles :).  I am so proud of myself and it felt great.
Eating went good today.  Or at least is getting better.  I did have 4 pieces of the delite pizza but I burned those calories just swimming :).
Tomorrow I am going to try to get a bike ride in outside but might have to settle for the trainer and two or three episodes of Naruto, haha.

Day 4

Shoulders/Abs was a good workout.  Man my muscles are sore :).
Ate fairly well.  Egg whites for breakfast, cream of wheat.  A luna bar and carrots for a snack.  Half a tuna sandwich for lunch and home made chicken pot pie for dinner.  My water was low today.  Need to keep that up.  All in all a great final strength workout for the week.

Day 3

Did legs today.  I think in some ways I could have done more but while I was there it felt like I was working really hard.  So I really don't know.  It was a good day and I did my workout.  I did good at breakfast and dinner but lunch was kind of a mess.  The turkey was dry :(.  I will just keep chugging along and get this figured out eventually.  Scale at home says 181.4 and the scale at work says 178.5.  I think I like the one at work better :).

Day 2

Did back and biceps today at lunch, empty weight room so I was done in about 45 min.  I did ride my bike for 25 mins.
My food was way off because my salad went bad and I didn't get my carb for breakfast.  I am very proud of myself though.  While at Fred Meyer for my oldest to get an eye exam i was so hungry.  I bought a Luna bar instead of junk.  Then going out to dinner was so tempting, ugh I was so hungry.  But i came home, baked some chicken and roasted some asparagus.  I am so proud of myself.

Day 1

Today was day 1 of the livefit.  I know I keep bouncing around but I think I found a good one this time.  I did Chest and tri's today.  Just a 5 min bike cardio to get warmed up.  It for sure helped my mood :).  I was all cranky when I started.  Tomorrow is back and bi's :).  At really good.  Had eggs, spinach and mushrooms for breakfast.  Had salad with chicken for lunch, a protein shake after the workout, and flank steak with broccoli and salad for dinner.  All in all a good day.  I just have to remember the junk food isn't worth it!

Saturday and Sunday

Well Sunday being Christmas and Saturday being Christmas eve I took the two days off.  Tomorrow (Monday) I start the livefit program from bodybuilding.com.  I am excited and nervous if it will work for me.  I opened a pinterest account and am loving the inspiration that I have found so far.  I will post an inspiration quote at the end of my workouts to help remind me to stick to it.

2011 The last fat year of my life, that is a fact and a promise :).

Dec 23 Friday

So today had two donuts, a luna bar, some left over chinese, olive garden salad, and some iced tea.  Yep not the best eating but it could have been worse :).

Swam 26 laps (1300 yards) for a total of 45 mins.
Did Biceps, triceps, chest press, shoulder press, abs, rear delts today.  Same as Monday.

Feeling pretty good with my work out.  Nice since Wednesday really threw me out of whack.

Ok so today was probably the worst day in recent weeks :(.
Ate out for all three meals and the work out at the navy base sucked.  They didn't have all the machines we needed so we ended up coming home.  And right now when I could be on my bike I am working :(.  Soooo tomorrow I need to hit it hard.  Today is a wash, on to tomorrow....

Breakfast - 2 poached eggs on 1 piece of wheat toast.
Lunch Tuna fish sandwich on wheat bread.
Dinner Wendy's Chicken Asiago sandwich, dr pepper and fries :(

Ran 2 miles in 34 mins burning 230 calories.
I hurt the top of my foot somehow and decided to forgo swimming tonight.  I missed it but feel it was the right decision.  Tomorrow is another weight training day :).

Monday Dec 19

Had a nonfat 12 oz white chocolate mocha for breakfast.
Spinach, spring mix with olive garden dressing and chicken for lunch.
Had pork fried rice and sweet and sour chicken for dinner.
8 glasses of water.

Did 31 mins on the eliptical went 2 miles burned 275 calories during my lunch break.
Did 28 mins on the indoor trainer at a moderate pace after the strength training.
Strength training included:
Barbell bench press 2sets @ 15lbs, 10 reps and 1set @ 35lbs, 3 reps
Seated Bent over REar delt raise on yoga ball 2sets @ 5lbs, 10 reps and 1set @ 8lbs, 3 reps
Dumbell shoulder press with one leg lifted 1set @ 8lbs, 10 reps, 1set @ 10lbs, 10 reps, and 1set @ 15lbs, 5 reps
Bent over 2 dumbell row 3sets @ 15lbs, 10 reps
Lying tricep press 2sets @ 10lbs, 10 reps and 1set @ 15lbs, 10 reps
Dumbell bicep curl 2sets @ 15lbs, 10 reps and 1set @ 15lbs, 3 reps

Abs done at lunch and in the evening.  Between sets did cardio to keep heart rate up.  I should have worn my heart rate monitor to keep track better.  It felt great to do the weight lifting.  I have 15lbs and then 35lbs.  I need to get a 20 and 25 pound set :).

Making progress

The scale is moving down.  Down to 182.3 this week.  I feel that I look different too.  We are going to take progress pictures this weekend.  I will post them when I get them uploaded.  I will do measurements and pictures.  Next Monday I am starting on a new weightlifting routine to hopefully give me a little extra ompf.  I got it from bodybuilding.com.  Those women are amazing.  I am hopeful that I can see some great results without supplementing with whey protein.  But I might have to as I get closer to the double century.  I hope to sit down with Chris and come up with a great game plan for the next month.  New Year coming with a new me.  Can't wait to see where I am at this time next year.  It should be amazing.

Thinking I am going to try crossfit for two weeks. I have heard good things and I can try it free at work. The plan right now is to crossfit M, W, F and run T, Th, Sat during lunch/work. Then swim Tuesday and Thursday. Bike on Monday, Wednesday and either Friday or Saturday depending on when I can get a long ride in. I have a plan B if crossfit isn't for me.
Light bulb moment:

I need to change me now!
When sad just get up and go work out. No excuses!

November 28-Dec 2

So here is a much overdue update.  Working out is going good.  Swam twice this week.  Tuesday for 25-30 mins did 18 laps, Thursday for 30 mins did only 12 laps.  Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I walked on the treadmill in my vibram five fingers.  Loved them.  Even tried a little jogging/running.  Friday I rode my bike outside with Chris for 1 hour 20 mins did about 12 miles give or take.  Maybe 12.5 my phone died at some point LOL.  According to my last update on facebook through my mapmyride app we had done 12.43 miles so I am guessing total was 12.5.  Hope to get some strength training in this weekend.  Maybe another swim and for sure a walk.  I am working hard for every pound lost.  Speaking of which.  I am down to 186 woot :).  Only 21 pounds to go for my Coast Guard max allowable and 56 for my big goal.  I hope to get to 130.  Eating is going great.  When I do eat something that is in the no no zone I have stopped beating myself up.  I just enjoy it and move on.  I eat as well as I can and don't worry about the rest.  Lost .5 inches around my waist in all three areas.  Feeling good.

So Thursday was the start of Level 2 of the 30 day shred.  Man I forgot just how hard level 2 is all the plank moves.  But I will push through and get in shape :).  I rode on the trainer for an hour about 10 miles since that is about my pace right now and then swam for 30 mins for a total of 1/2 a mile.  All in all a productive day burning about 1100 calories.  No my calorie intake did not support that.  I am not sure yet how to get my calorie higher for days like that without junk food, but I am working on it.  My Stamina is for sure improving though.

Monday and Wednesday

There was no working out on Monday and Wednesday :(.  It kind of sucked yes.  But lets not look back and moan we shall keep pushing forward and keep our body moving.

Sunday November 13, 2011

Well week one down for the 30 day shred :).  I am doing good.  The first two weeks are the hardest.  So if I can get my eating figured out I will be making some solid weight loss progress.  We ate out all last week :(.  However Chris and I are challenging ourselves to not eat out until Christmas (or longer).  When we reach our challenge goal we will be rewarded with money to buy whatever we want.  Not a night out to eat :).  See how I did that.  I went for a ride outside today.  Did 10.2 miles in just over an hour so about a 10 mile an hour pace.  It was great and felt great.  I did Day 7 of the 30 day shred.  Most days are 60-90 mins worth of working out but this week will start getting longer.  Each week from here on out will get longer since I have to work up to be able to ride 200 miles :).  I will weigh in either Monday or Tuesday for my one week check.  I hope that by the end of next week I will start feeling better about myself despite my weight.  Keep watching for more updates.  I will try to update more often.

5 Days in

I am 5 days into my 30 Day Shred. I am also running, biking and swimming. yesterday I burned about 1000 calories go me. I feel like a biggest loser contestant lol. So far I feel great and am enjoying working out. I am sleeping better and feeling better about my body. I hope the pounds just melt away lol. On Wednesday I was down to 187.7 so we will see what it looks like next week. I don't think I am eating enough as crazy as that sounds. I ate over 1500 calories yesterday but really only left 500 to do daily stuff. Thinking of hiring a running coach to help me. swimming is getting better, stamina is improving. I swam for 45 mins yesterday up from 20 mins last week. I have tried to post from my iPad a couple times but it doesn't seem to work. Hopefully this one posts.

On hold again

It would appear that I pushed a little to much to fast so I am backing off for a couple more weeks until my dr gives me the green light.  I am going to work on my eating.  I will be starting this weekend after I pick up some reading material :).  I think we are going to try to eat paleo for 30 days and see what happens.  I have heard great things about energy levels and such from this method.  We want to eat cleaner anyway this just gives us a push in the right direction.

Pre-pregnancy, 9 months, and after

So this is me.  The day we found out I was pregnant Left so pre-pregnancy size about 157 pounds, size 10 jeans.  Me the day I delivered our beautiful baby girl 39 weeks 2 days 211 pounds Right.  And me at 3 weeks 5 days post partum bottom Right at 190 pounds. It was a long journey to get her here and it won't be an easy road back but I am determined to get back and be better than ever.  Yes some of my weight and stomach may shift in the coming weeks but it still isn't pretty.  Go go weight-loss.

First day back working out

I have to say being back on the workout wagon while tough feels good.  I feel so much better and relaxed after my sweat session :).  Course it kicked my butt and I am seriously out of shape.  Everything feels like a limp noodle now.  But I did it.  I jumped back on the workout wagon.  Here are my beginning stats.  I have to get Chris to check my chest measurement and take a new "before" picture but those will be tonight.

Weight 190.8 (down from 197 1 week PP)

Body fat % 37.7 according to my scale no idea how accurate it is.  An online site says 53.42% either way its high right now.

Goals and plans

Or should that be plans and goals, either way this is where I am going in 2012.  The reality is nothing is going to really be on the schedule for 2011.  I am going to start the C25K from the beginning again no later than November 7th.  Which is the Monday after my 6 week check up.  I should have the green light by then to start running.  In January I plan to start the Jeff Galloway half marathon training plan.  The goal is to run a 5k in March for and with a dear friend of mine, the Portland Rock and Roll 1/2 Marathon in May, the Seattle to Portland bicycle classic in July and the Nike Woman's Full Marathon in October of 2012.  I will be training for the full marathon with Team in Training since I didn't get to complete my triathlon training.  That should help me to ensure I get the right training and don't get injured.  I am so excited to do that race in October and finish the year strong.  I have at least 30 pounds to lose by April to make weight for the Coast Guard.  After that I hope to lose another 30-40 pounds.  I will be adjusting my ticker to show my current new starting weight.  I will also adjust all my measurements and get a new starting picture after my 6 week post partum check.  No reason to mess with it now since I am only 3 weeks post partum and not cleared to work out yet.  Hubby is going to be working out with me too since he is doing the STP with me in July.  All in all its going to be a fun exciting year full of life changes and accomplishing goals.

Took a workout break...

Well haven't posted in a bit and after this post it might still be another month before there are more consistent posts.  The end of January we found out we were expecting our third child.  I had to stop doing my training for the triathlon :( and focus on a healthy pregnancy.  I wasn't allowed to continue running.  I have gained 50pounds so far with this pregnancy.  After we have her though I plan to get back into my training and complete a Team in Training event in 2012 along with the Seattle to Portland bike ride.  I hope to do a number of 5k's in 2012 and possibly a 1/2 marathon and a full marathon in the fall of 2012 depending on how things play out.  Once I get back into my weightloss and working out I will start posting more.  My food journals, workout accomplishments each day and so forth.  So check back in probably November for the first of many posts over my year long journey.

Still working out :)

Just haven't been posting. Well lets see. I was sick over the holidays. I started the New year with a 5k Resolution run and it was great. I finished in about 45 mins and had a great time. Went 3.3 miles. The following Monday I had practice and swam about 1750 yards. Wednesday January 5, 2011 I did another 3.3 miles go me. On Saturday's practice I did a bike/run. Rode 1.77 miles for a warm up in about 10 mins, then rode another 10 miles in about 50 mins. Last but not least I went .9 miles in about 11 mins. I forgot to stop my timer haha. Monday January 10, 2011 was a rough swim and I only made about 50 mins. My nutrition is way off but today Wednesday January 12, 2011 is a fresh start with the food. I am hungry right now so I know my breakfast wasn't enough. Its going to be trial and error and keeping track of how I feel. Oh yesterday Tuesday January 11, 2011 I got on my new bike trainer for 30 mins, man that was intense. I was dripping. Then I did some of my physical therapy stuff for my hips and stretching. I feel really good today. I will post my food for today at the end of the day. Working to eat more fruits and veggies instead of chips and junk food. So far the new year is going good for working out. Get my food figured out and I will be golden.
