Three more weeks

We only have 16 more days of Navy Lodge living and we are on our way.  I am trying to eat good and it's not working great.  But the best part is I just need to not gain anymore weight before I can get to Texas and get a new routine going.  Videos will probably be my friend with the heat I'm not accustomed to.  But I will be getting on my paleo fix and getting my workout on.  It's going to be great.  I'm going to try to run a bit between now and then but I'm not going to stress it.  And I know in the hotels on the way to Texas they will have a nice gym.  The Navy Lodge does not :(.  But it's only 16 more days.  With the higher temps (80's) in WA I have noticed a change in my appetite.  I'm not drinking enough water though.  I need to be better about that.  I have also realized that I don't need to shy away from posting about my struggles.  A. not many people read this :) if any, and B. everyone has struggles, so why try to pretend I don't...  I will still reach my goal by my next birthday!

Hotel living

Yep its just as rough as I thought it would be.  Perhaps more so.  My waist has suffered terribly. I am up to 169 :( but eating out and no exercise will do that to a person.  So I have kicked myself into gear this week.  Monday I did a workout I found on pinterest.  It was good.  Rough but good.  Tuesday I ran 2.5 miles (30 mins without stopping).  Today (Wednesday) I got on the stationary bike for 30 mins (nothing crazy) and a kettle bell routine.  My legs are feeling amazing *insert sarcasm.  I know my body is working and building.  I am not going to let this deter me in my goals.  I will keep trucking along.  Only a month left until we are at our new home and can get settled into a new routine and a great track for eating and working out.  I'm proud that I'm not just giving up, that I am pushing and getting back on track.  Eating is still a mess but at least I won't make any further backward progress.  I might not make any gains but I will keep pushing forward.

Crossfit

So Chris is really into crossfit and loves doing it.  So I didn't want to work out but I did it with him last night.  It was a lot of fun and I am sore today so that is a good thing.  I'm glad I did it and thankful for a supportive hubby.

Workouts aren't working for me

Usually I find a lot of stress relief from working out.  Lately that hasn't been the case.  And after three weeks I'm not seeing much change.  I would imagine that some of it is my fault.  Well all of it is my fault but I need a new routine that works for me and gets me excited to work out each day.  So I'm looking to make my running the primary with my strength training as my cross training.  I'm going to find a good routine and get healthy.  I'm jealous of those people that can just flip a switch.  Since I am not apparently that type of person I will have to find another way.  I did 30 mins on the stationary bike today so I did workout.  And I'm proud that I did something even when lacking the motivation.

Back and biceps with a little leg on the side.

Today was a back and bicep day.  I threw in legs since I missed it yesterday.  I did workout.  I got on my bike yesterday and rode for 25 mins.  But the legs needed a good burn session.  I think it was overall a good workout.  Food is of course a mess.  Who knew it would be so hard to eat healthy.  One thing today taught me is to stick with my little goals.  I was doing better food wise last week.  So back to just trying to eat at home instead of paleo/clean/ whatever other fad diet I might be inclined to try.  When we move in 7 weeks I can try modifying the food.  For now I just need to work out more and eat as good as I can while being realistic.  This is a process.  This isn't quick and I have to break years of habits.  I will do this though.  I can do this.

Crazy weekend

We all have them, especially two weeks from when movers are coming.  So today I was so gonna hit the gym until I was up at midnight with a vomiting child.  So the goal for tonight is to ride the bike for 30 mins (up from 10 last week) and then do my bosu ball legs until my legs burn!  Gotta stay on track.  Technically with the live fit trainer I didn't miss a workout last week (since I did legs Monday) and I took all the prescribed rest days.  I wasn't planning on it but it happened.  A lot happened this weekend.  But I'm going to get it all done again this week and hopefully add in some more cardio to push the weight loss a bit.  I will do back and bi's tomorrow since I won't have the base gym on Wednesday and Chest/tri day is easier at home than back and bi.  I will say I was sore last week and it was great.  I am trying to cut carbs.  I decided to allow 3 carb meals a week to be realistic.  I got two new cookbooks to help ease the transition and so far they are a huge hit.  They are from Elana's Pantry.  I highly recommend the Gluten free almond flour cooking and the cupcake book.  Both are paleo/gluten free and I haven't found a recipe yet I haven't tried.  I got them Saturday and have made 1 cupcake (triple chocolate), drop biscuits, chocolate chip scones, zucchini bread (will be able to try tomorrow) and currently making strawberry cupcakes.  I love the fact the recipes are simple and easy.  They look and taste like regular treats.  And I have not had much luck with almond flour/meal muffins so I'm loving her stuff.  Her website has a lot of recipes too.  I will try to get pictures up on my cooking from scratch blog I started to keep track of the good, the bad and the so so recipes I make.

Goals for the week:
Continue with the water, was doing really good.
Workout all 5 days this week per the live fit plan.
Eat at home all week :).
Don't be to hard on myself.
